A Child Terror from Belgium is the Loekenbeer (also known as Loekebeer, Loekkebeer, Lokkenbeer or Loekeman). He abducts children who don't get inside before nightfall. It is possible that his name was derived from the Germanic trickster god Loki (later asociated with the Devil). It seems more likely that his name was contrived of the Dutch verb "lok" (which means "to lure"), and Beerput (Dutch word for "cistern"). After all, he's been known to live in cesspits and cisterns.
