The Jager van het Meer (translation: Hunter of the Lake) is the ghost of a hunter reported to have roamed the Grondelooze Plas in the region of Enschede, Overijssel. In his waking life, the man hunted every Sunday and even holy days in the Aamsveen. As a result his spirit would not leave the swamp until he had drained the entire lake with nothing but a thimble. This impossible task befalls him every night.
